Starting my (small) Louis Vuitton Collection

My little collection; mini pochette, pochette accessoires, Deauville, Saumur 30, Saumur 35, Sologne and a bandeau.

When I was about seventeen, I saw a woman on the street wearing a beautiful bag with a (to me) really appealing logo print. I didn't know what brand it was, only that I wanted one too. I coudln't find these bags anywhere in the stores so after a while, me and a friend chased down a woman who was wearing one. I asked here where what bag it was and where she'd bought it and she told me she got it abroad and that it was a Louis Vuittton. Finally I knew! I typed the name into Google and found several hits of celebrities wearing these bags and I also immediately saw that I couldn't afford one of my own.

A little while ago, I was paying a visit to the Louis Vuitton website to see if there were any bags I was interested in. And as it turned out, I started having a thing for the Sologne. i really like the proportions of the bag and how classic it looks. To me, this is just one of those bags you can wear to (almost) any occassion and looks great at any age. Apparently however, I am the only one who likes this bag because I couldn't find a single review on the thing. So to fill up this gaping hole on the internet, I decided to write one myself. Just a couple days after finding my new desired LV on the website, I spotted on on eBay at a good price. Fortunately, I won the auction and I now am the proud owner of a vintage Louis Vuitton Sologne. The only downfall on this bag was the missing shoulderstrap, but luckly my mom had a leather strap that matched pretty well. And now, after a visit to the local shoe repair guy, I can wear my bag. The dimensions of the bag are x x and it comes with a longer shoulderstrap to wear it crossbody or as a classic shoulderbag.

It has been a while!

 So... it has been a while! A lot has happened since my last post: I received my masters degree, moved and have had different jobs. But of course I also have a lot of new finds I want to show you! Among them are my Versus coat and my lovely vintage bag. I'll tell you all about them in my upcoming posts, but for now I'm just telling you.. I'm back!

My visit to the ‘Noordermarkt’

Yesterday (Monday) morning I visited the Noordermarkt in Amsterdam. I visit this small market every once in a while, it’s a great place to buy cheap vintage. I didn’t really buy any vintage yesterday because I arrived a bit too late, it got too crowded for my taste. If you’re planning on visiting Amsterdam, you should definitely pay this market a visit. This is the place where all the hip and trendy people buy their cheap clothing and there are hardly any tourists. If you’re done visiting the Noordermarkt, you can simply walk to the bigger Westermarkt that’s just around the corner. You can buy everything you need on this market. I forgot to bring my camera with me so I had to make photo’s with my phone (hence the poor quality), but here’s an impression of the Noordermarkt:   

The Coat I just Had to Have..

 

I must say that during the past weeks, I might have neglected my blog, but I definitely did not neglect my fashion diet. I’ve tossed some of my older worn out clothes and bought some new ones to replace them. Among them was a coat I can’t get out of my mind, even now that it’s hanging in my closet. I just bought the Max Mara 101801 coat and I’m so excited! I’ve been looking for a classic (preferably camel) coat for at least two years now and when I spotted a vintage 101801 at a vintage shop here in Amsterdam, I was really happy. I must say that I didn’t buy it immediately, I first went home to think it over.
